Chair's Welcome
Welcome to the Department of Advanced Biomedical Education (D.A.B.E.).
This Department oversees the learning of students and trainees in the biomedical sciences across several schools and the University of Mississippi Medical Center's Healthcare System. In addition, D.A.B.E. provides teaching, training and professional development activities to the following schools and programs: School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, School of Graduate Studies in Health Sciences, School of Health-Related Professions, School of Nursing, Faculty Development Program, University Healthcare System, Residency Programs and Fellowship Programs.
D.A.B.E. includes a cadre of biomedical educators in the fundamental sciences, along with the Simulation, Resuscitation Training, and Clinical Skills Assessment cores, the School of Medicine Pre-Matriculation Program, and the University Anatomical Gift Program.
The Department is committed to training future generations of healthcare professionals, scientists, and biomedical educators by bringing learning into the classroom and beyond through real-world scenarios, promoting scholarly activities and research, and supporting community outreach initiatives.
